Our Reason to Dance

Mind, Body & Soul Dancers was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in August, 2010 by Nzinga Khalid. Membership is comprised of civic-minded individuals who believe in, support and drive the mission of the group.

Mind Body & Soul Dancers mission is to use urban line dancing as an outlet for youth and adults to express negative aggression in positive manners. The secondary aim is to teach adults and youth to make healthy dietary choices, have fun exercising, and utilize line dancing as stress relief.

The group offers community based urban line dance programs in addition to individual lessons, corporate workshops/demonstrations, and private events. MBSD performs at community festivals, parties, celebrations, and other venues to help get the word out about improving overall health and wellness through line dancing.

In 2011 Founder, Nzinga Khalid was the recipient of the Best Fitness Instructor Opulence Award. In 2013 she was recognized by the Wisconsin African American Women's Center as a Faces of Hope honoree at the 17th annual Hats Luncheon.
